AOC talks about verbal assault by Ted Yolo, Kat Cammrack’s former boss, on the House floor

MANCHESTER, NHU.S. Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL), a strong supporter of President Trump who won a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2020, made a public appearance with Victoria Sullivan in the Queen City last week. She is the second member of Congress from the South to endorse Sullivan.

A resident of Gainseville, Florida, Cammack served as the chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Ted Yolo, who represented Florida’s 3rd district. She resigned her post to campaign to be his successor, beating out 12 other contenders for the Republican nomination. She was endorsed by Donald Trump, via Twitter, during the primary.

Ted Yolo made news after verbally accosting U.S. Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the steps of the Capitol. Reporters heard him say, after confronting ACO, “f — ing bitch.

Yolo’s remarks to and about ACO were a reaction to her comments that an uptick in crime in her hometown of New York City was triggered by poverty and police brutality, and also to her support of the Defund the Police movement.

Cammack is the second member of Congress from parts of the old Confederacy to endorse Victoria Sullivan for mayor. U.S. Senator Rand Paul, who hails from the Border State of Kentucky, endorsed Sullivan back in June.

Sullivan’s chief political consultant, Michael Biundo, worked on campaigns for Paul and Donald Trump.

Kat Cammack was one of 139 U.S. Representatives who voted against certifying the 2020 Presidential election results. The vote came the day after the Capitol Riot of January 6th.

Eight U.S. Senators also voted against certification of the Electoral College vote. Sullivan’s supporter Rand Paul was not among them.

Congresswoman Cammack was not a supporter of an attempted putsch. In response to the riot, she issued a statement that said, “Violence will not be tolerated. If you attack the Capitol, you attack this country. I will fight endlessly to protect our Constitution and the Republic from tyranny. I condemn in the strongest of terms any violence perpetrated by any group."

As reported by Manchester Ink Link, Cammack says she is impressed by Victoria Sullivan’s compassion. They both share an interest in the homeless. Cammack believes many Republicans backed away from certain issues such as helping the homeless, and lauded Sullivan for being a conservative woman who cares.

Reporter Andy Sylvia quoted her as saying, “For a long time, there are issues that conservatives have shied away from, but she’s really gone after it.”
