MANCHESTER, NH — Joyce Craig’s rival for mayor, former State Representative Victoria Sullivan, has run a negative campaign focused on attacking the mayor for what Sullivan and her advisers portray as a Manchester in deep decline.

Sullivan constantly drones her mantra “Craig’s Chaos” to run down the mayor and the Queen City. It is puerile pap.

Victoria Sullivan’s statements reveal her to be an ideological driven Jeremiah, clothed rhetorically in sackcloth and ashes, TRUMPeting a right-wing Armageddon about a place that is consistently ranking high in national surveys regarding safety, liveability and economic vigor.

The Manchester-Nashua metropolitan area came in #13 in the Wall Street Journal/Realtor.com Housing Index, which ranks cities on the basis of lifestyle amenities and housing market appreciation.

The impressive showing of the Queen City is the latest bellwether of the outstanding performance of Manchester under Mayor Joyce Craig.

In early October, Mayor Craig’s Queen City was ranked the #11th safest city in America in Wallet Hub’s nationwide survey of over 150 of the most populated cities. WalletHub surveyed over 150 of the largest cities in America, ranking them in three categories: home and community safety; natural disaster risk; and financial safety.

This was followed by U.S News & World’s ranking of Manchester as the 6th safest city, and the 24th best place to retire to — the latter, a rare honor for a New England city.

If there is chaos, it is in the mind and behavior of self-styled “Mayor of Manchester” Victoria Sullivan. I am not a psychologist, but I can only imagine her attacks on Joyce Craig are motivate by — aside from personal jealousy of the ultra-competent mayor — by some weird projection of her own feelings of the Queen City.

It seems chaos as a meme, a trope, an idea appeals to the former resident of Lawrence, Mass., who has been running down Manchester in the press and online and in her campaigning for the better part of four years.

What with her coddling of armed vigilantes, and her embrace of the New Hampshire secessionist movement’s major domo Carla Gericke — a native South African who won an immigration visa lottery and intends to show her gratitude to the United States that took her in by having New Hampshire secede from it — one can only imagine the chaos of a Manchester in which she is mayor.

Victoria Sullivan would be the Queen of Chaos then.
