Does Victoria Sullivan Tout Backing by Outsiders Because She Lacks Support Inside the Queen City?

The mayoral ambitions of Victoria Sullivan & Rich Girard are destined to go into eclipse

Manchester Ink Link carried a story today on New Hampshire State Senator Denise Ricciardi (R-Bedford) endorsing Victoria Sullivan for Mayor of Manchester. The article quotes Ricciardi as saying:

“We desperately need her leadership in the Corner Office in Manchester.”

It is apparent from the lack of endorsements from substantial Manchesterites that Victoria Sullivan lacks support inside the Queen City, even from inside the Manchester Republican Party. It’s the same situation with Rich Girard, who the same day touts an endorsement from the chairman of Hooksett’s Town Council.

In contrast, Mayor Joyce Craig was endorsed by former Manchester Republican Committee Chairman Victor Goulet, a conservative who once headed Concerned Taxpayers of Manchester . These are the types of endorsements Sullivan and Girard should be getting, but are not.

These are signs that the candidacies of these two Republicans aspiring to be mayor are in serious trouble. Neither Republican candidate seems to be able to afford the kind of political advertising that gives a challenger a fighting chance in a citywide election.

Lacking endorsements from inside the City of Manchester, both Sullivan and Girard have to resort to garnering endorsements from outsiders and publicizing them.

Most political insiders believe that both Victoria Sullivan and Rich Girard (if the electoral gods miracle his ass past Sullivan and into the general election) are on course to duplicate their landslide defeats in their earlier bids for mayor. And most of Manchester seems to know it.
