Dear Victoria Sullivan, Queen City Chaos Stems from County Prosecutor Office Mismanaged by Republican

Hillsborough County Attorney John Coughlin Accused of Mismanagement; Judge Asks for Sanctions

The New Hampshire Union Leader and the First Amendment Coalition will be allowed to be parties to a criminal case in which the operations of the Hillsborough County Attorney Office has became a major issue. The Union Leader and the advocates for free speech are seeking hundreds of County Attorney John Coughlin’s documents.

Coughlin is claiming that the documents are privileged information and cannot be released under state law.

According to the Union Leader’s Mark Hayward:

For years, the Hillsborough County Attorney office has been plagued with underfunding, high staff turnover and questions of competency of the elected county attorney.

The judge in the case has admonished Coughlin and the County Attorney’s office, calming that there was an “administrative breakdown” and “culpable neglect” in the prosecutor’s office. He believed that sanctions against Coughlin were justified.

Perhaps this is where Republican mayoral candidate Victoria Sullivan should look to for the roots of what she calls the “Chaos” plaguing the Queen City. However, County Attorney John Coughlin is a Republican, and Sullivan is a hyperpartisan, loyal to her fellow Republicans and to her Free State Project allies.
