Dana Beal to Appear on “Matt Connarton Unleashed” Radio Talk Show
Cannabis Activist Takes on Sen. Jeanne Shaheen’s Opposition to Legalizing Marijuana
MANCHESTER, NH — Youth International Party founder Dana Beal, the Grand Old Man of the Countercultural Wing of the New Left, will make an appearance on Matt Connarton Unleashed on Thursday afternoon, May 20th.
Matt Connarton Unleashed is a two-hour drive-time radio talk show broadcast live on WMNH 95.3 FM, Manchester’s public radio station from 4–6 pm Eastern. Matt Connarton has a national audience due to the program being simultaneously broadcast online.
The Yippie Dana Beal was recently profiled in the New York Times. He came to Matt Connarton’s attention after appearing on the Manchester public access TV show Ward 13 with Jon Hopwood, where he proved a lively and fascinating interview.
Dana Beal reached out to me as he is seeking to influence New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen to support the federal legalization of marijuana.
Shaheen has opposed legalization as she believes it is a gateway drug to heroin. She has stated that she will not support legalization of cannabis until the opiate crisis subsides.
As a heroin user who kicked the habit with the help of ibogaine, a plant indigenous to Africa, Beal believes that Shaheen is wrong. Cannabis legalization will actually reduce the abuse of heroin and other opiates, as cannabis can effectively treat conditions like PTSD that drive people to self-medicate with illegal drugs.
New Hampshire native Matt Connarton, an independent politically with a libertarian bent and liberal attitudes on social issues, has long featured stories on the absurdities of the federal War on Drugs. He supports the legalization of cannabis.
People wanting to listen to Dana Beal on Matt Connarton Unleashed can tune into the live live on WMNH 95.3 FM between 4:15 and 6 pm Eastern today, May 20th. In addition to the simulcast on WMNH 95.3 FM’s online site, MCU also is broadcast live on its Facebook page and by ipmnation.com, where the shows are archived.
Calls from listeners and participation on social media are encouraged.
